Doug Baldwin is hoping to earn a promotion beyond slot duties in 2012.
"I want to be known as the greatest receiver who ever played the game," he said. "(And) it’s going to be hard to do that strictly out of the slot." Baldwin has been working out daily since the regular season ended. He'll be worth late-round consideration in 2012 fantasy drafts, but is unlikely to open the year as anything other than the Seahawks' No. 3 receiver despite his lofty aspirations.

Doug Baldwin caught three passes for 40 yards on four targets versus the Cardinals in Week 17.
The first undrafted free agent rookie to lead his team in receptions and yards since the Oilers' Bill Groman in 1960, the speedy slot receiver emerged as Tarvaris Jackson's most reliable target. Baldwin finished with 51 receptions for 788 yards and four TDs. He projects as a 2012 late-round flier as the No. 3 receiver in a run-oriented offense.

Doug Baldwin (ankle) is active for Saturday's Week 16 game against the 49ers.
Baldwin didn't practice all week, making him a very shaky play against the 49ers' elite defense. He had just one catch against the Bears last week and is not 100 percent today. You can do better for WR3 options.

Doug Baldwin (ankle) missed Seahawks practice again on Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 16.
Baldwin couldn't even participate in a walkthrough. The undrafted rookie didn't practice on Thursday, either, after apparently suffering a setback on Wednesday. Write off Baldwin as a potential fantasy option in Week 16. Clearly less than 100 percent, Baldwin hasn't played nearly well enough to be worth the risk.

Seahawks WRs Sidney Rice (shoulder surgeries) and Kris Durham (shoulder surgery) ran routes during Thursday's OTA workout.
Both players, along with sixth-round S Winston Guy, wore red non-contact jerseys as a precaution. The optimistic Seahawks expect Rice to be the healthiest he's ever been by the time training camp rolls around. As far as we're concerned, the three concussions in a 12-month span are every bit as worrisome as Rice's twin shoulder surgeries.

Seahawks WR Kris Durham, placed on injured reserve this week, underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder.
So there's no truth to the rumor that Durham injured his shoulder when the Seahawks twisted his arm to go on I.R. The 2011 fourth-rounder is facing a six-month recovery timetable, leaving him questionable for an important round of OTAs next spring.

Receivers Mike Williams (leg) and Sidney Rice (shoulder surgeries, concussions) are not taking part in Seahawks voluntary workouts.
Rice's absence was expected, but there was an outside chance Williams would participate. Recovering from a broken left ankle and fibula, Williams will have to be 100 percent healthy to even be in the mix for a roster spot in training camp.
