Cowboys RB Phillip Tanner is fully recovered from last year's hamstring injury.
The injury ended Tanner's season in early December, but he was "quick and decisive" making cuts at Wednesday's OTA practice. Tanner will battle rookies Darrell Scott and Lance Dunbar for Dallas' third-string tailback job in camp.

Cowboys placed RB Phillip Tanner on injured reserve with a hamstring strain, ending his season.
The strain must have been significant. Tanner, an undrafted rookie from Middle Tennessee, managed 76 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries (3.45 YPC) in nine appearances. The Cowboys will move forward with Felix Jones behind DeMarco Murray. They also have Chauncey Washington on the practice squad.

Cowboys declared RB Phillip Tanner (hamstring) inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Tanner didn't practice all week, hinting at a significant strain. DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones are the lone tailbacks active today. The rest of the Cowboys' inactives: QB Jon Kitna, RB Phillip Tanner, FB Tony Fiammetta, WR Miles Austin, G David Arkin, G Daniel Loper and DT Josh Brent.

Cowboys RB Phillip Tanner rushed 11 times for 29 yards in Dallas' Week 10 win over the Bills.
Tanner saw increased late-game carries with Dallas shelling Buffalo, 44-7. Tanner lacks the wiggle and power of DeMarco Murray, and will experience a role reduction when Felix Jones (ankle) gets back. Don't think these 11 carries, a season-high for Tanner, represent any sort of sign of things to come.

Felix Jones is being limited at Cowboys OTAs due to recovery from offseason shoulder surgery.
The Cowboys expect Jones to be 100 percent by training camp. The contract-year tailback battled a right shoulder issue, a high ankle sprain, and a hamstring pull last season. He'll return as DeMarco Murray's change-of-pace back.

Cowboys rookie WR Danny Coale will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair a broken bone in his left foot.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it's a broken fifth metatarsal that should keep Coale out a month. The Cowboys hope to have Coale on the field early in training camp, but the missed practice time will set the fifth-rounder back in his competition for the third receiver role. Andre Holmes, Kevin Ogletree, Dwayne Harris, and undrafted rookie Tim Benford are also vying for the job.
