Despite the loss, the Penguins did everything they needed to do to get back into the series, playing a much more urgent and structured game. They outshot and outchanced the Bruins by a considerable margin, playing their best game but still falling short. Deflating in every sense of the word as they are now down 3-0 in the series. Evgeni Malkin had 21 shot attempts, getting 10 on goal, while Kris Letang had eight shots on net and led the team with 40:50 of ice time. "I've never been in this situation before, with the uncertainly of what the future holds," Iginla said. "Maybe there's an opportunity to come back (to Pittsburgh). There's only positives up until our last series." Iginla will be one of the more intriguing free agents on the market as he has 530 career goals in the regular season to go with 576 assists but his skills are eroding at this time in his career and the Penguins could likely find a better use for the money he will be asking for as a UFA. According to Rossi, Shero wants to find out whether Dupuis is willing to re-sign with the Pens prior to free agency opening July 5. Dupuis is a top priority for Shero due to his scoring (45 goals over the last two seasons), place in the locker room and status as the preferred right winger of Sidney Crosby.
