New court documents allege that the NHL would not pay Steve Moore $220,000 in disability entitlements unless he dropped his civil lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi and the Vancouver Canucks organization.
Insurance companies determined in 2007 that Moore suffered career-ending injuries in the infamous Bertuzzi attack, entitling him to a Permanent Total Disability benefit of $220,000. A clause, however, stated that if Moore if he accepted the disability benefit, he would not be allowed to launch any further litigation against the NHL and its member hockey clubs. Moore instead chose to launch a civil suit, and is seeking $38 million dollars in damages from Bertuzzi, the Canucks and team owners. Tue, Feb 25, 2014 09:27:00 PM
