The Nashville Predators are willing to listen to offers for the No. 4 overall pick in June's NHL Entry Draft.
This year's draft is incredibly deep, but the general consensus is there are four or five franchise-caliber players at the top. The Avalanche (No. 1) and Panthers (No. 2) have both stated they would be willing to move out of their spots, but that's likely nothing more than posturing. It would be stunning if either franchise moved out of the top two spots unless they were blown away, which is what Predators assistant GM Paul Fenton said about the No. 4 pick. "In order to move up to that position, you’re going to have to make an offer that you can’t refuse," Fenton said after noting they've already received calls about the pick. It's possible the Preds, like the Avs and Panthers, are simply looking to slide back a spot or two in order to pick up an extra prospect or pick and still get one of those elite-level players.
