Scott Laughton wants to be a top-six forward as early as next season.
The center played mostly on the third line this season and was a healthy scratch in seven games down the stretch of the regular season. He ended up with 21 points in 71 games and was injured in the playoffs after falling awkwardly into the boards in Game 4 of the first round. He never returned to action but is now healthy. "I'm comfortable with anywhere they put me," Laughton said. "I've said it for the past couple of years. So I am going to work on my game and be ready wherever." Laughton will have a tough time displacing Sean Couturier from the second line center spot and has no chance of beating out Claude Giroux as the top center so a return to the third unit is likely in 2016-17.
