Flames prospect Morgan Klimchuk is motivated to stop his friend and former roommate Connor McDavid during Saturday's rookie tournament game.
The two players were roommates during the 2013 U-18 World Championships and then again during last year's World Junior camp. "That’s the thing — you’ve got no friends out there, no matter who you’re playing," Klimchuk said. "But he’s a special player, and if he’s in the train tracks, he knows someone is coming. When you’re playing against him, you want to be the person who stops him, but he’s a special player and a special kid," Klimchuk said. "I’m curious to see how he does this year. I think he’s going to do real well because of how committed he is and how gifted he is, but I’m excited to play him and the challenge that brings." Sat, Sep 12, 2015 09:38:00 AM
