Travis Sanheim has enjoyed strong showings in the Flyers' last two preseason contests.
These exhibition games are important to Sanheim as he tries to earn a roster spot over one of Robert Hagg and Sam Morin. If Thursday's game were any indication, it would probably be Sanheim that won one of those two spots. He scored the Flyers' lone goal in the overtime loss. "He played a confident game. He had the puck quite a bit," Flyers coach Dave Haksol said. "One of the things he’s good at is getting up into the play, and his skating ability allows him to get there. … And I thought he had a pretty clean game defensively. A lot of that comes from defending well and making a good first pass. He’s just a more confident player than he was a year ago." Sanheim had 10 goals and 37 points in 76 AHL contests in 2016-17.
