The Arizona Coyotes took Ryan MacInnis with the 43rd overall pick in the 2014 draft.
MacInnis followed his dad’s footsteps to become a hulking hockey player, but the son of NHL great Al MacInnis prefers to crash the blue crease rather than take his father’s spot on the blue line. A towering, lanky presence, the 185 pound center has a lot of work to do in filling out his 6"4 frame. MacInnis has a good shot and provides offense by positioning himself in scoring or playmaking positions, usually around the net. MacInnis had a rough transition year taking his game from the U.S. to Canada in the OHL, managing just 37 points in 66 games for the Kitchener Rangers. But MacInnis’ long reach, hockey sense, and faceoff abilities should allow for the lefty to crack the Coyotes' lineup in a couple years. Jun 28 - 11:27 AM
