New Jersey chose Joshua Jacobs with the 41st overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
There’s a lot to like about what Jacobs brings to the table. He has the measurables for an NHL defenseman; he can affect a game on both ends of the ice and he is a fluid skater. There’s big upside as a two-way blueliner here. While he’s able to connect on the long home run pass and make the quick play in transition, he also has a hard shot from the point. Typical of a young player, his aggressiveness and judgment need refining. The Michigan State commit's focus wanes at times. His physical game has been described as "efficient" and he uses his size and reach to his advantage to break up plays. Jun 28 - 11:14 AM
