QPR looked to be headed to a goalless draw with table leader Chelsea but a mistake by Robert Green led to an 88th minute goal for the Blues and Rangers dropped a crucial point in a 0-1 loss.
It may not have been as harmful or as embarrassing as the infamous howler he conceded for England against the United States back in 2010, but it was nonetheless damaging. Chelsea had gone the first 88 minutes without so much as a shot on target and Rangers were very close to seeing the match out with a needed point. Green collected the ball for a goal kick, urging his men to go forward. He then scuffed it, and the ball dropped just 20 yards away, where Eden Hazard quickly pounced and the attack was on that led to the Fabregas goal. If QPR are relegated by the difference of a point, it will be difficult for their fans to not dwell on this result as the pivotal moment when their fates were sealed. Apr 12 - 10:57 AM
