Tottenham knew they had a tough task in taking on Burnley at the fortress that is Turf Moor, but the Lillywhites were able to finally break through with two second half goals to help close the gap between them and Chelsea in a 0-2 final.
The first half went as one might expect given the reputations of both sides heading into this match. Spurs enjoyed the bulk of possession but Burnley did well to keep their shape and frustrate the Tottenham attack. Things took a turn for the worse as halftime approached, with both Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks having to be replaced due to injury. Tottenham finally broke through in the 66th minute, when Burnely failed to clear a Christian Eriksen corner and Eric Dier was there to score his first goal of the season. Ten minutes later, Dele Alli sent a low cross to the foot of Heung-min Son, who had come on moments earlier for Vincent Janssen, and Son tapped it in to seal the points. With Chelsea taking a surprising loss today, the title race has suddenly begun to heat up again. Apr 1 - 12:02 PM
