Queens Park Rangers have been dealt a massive blow with the news that midfielder Eduardo Vargas will miss the remainder of the season after a scan confirmed the Chilean had suffered a grade two medial collateral knee ligament tear.
Vargas had sent the Hoops on their way to an emphatic [and unexpected] win at West Brom in GW31 with a long range opener on 15 minutes but his afternoon was curtailed on the half hour mark as he twisted unchallenged attempting to strike a ball mid-air. QPR released an official statement on Monday advising that Vargas would be missing for around 10-12 weeks with knee ligament damage. Niko Kranjcar was his immediate replacement at the Hawthorns - and as a starter at Villa Park - but the Croatian struggled on Tuesday and Rangers’ became a much stronger unit following the introduction of Karl Henry who was paired with Joey Barton. Chris Ramsey must now consider his options ahead of Sundays' crucial game against Chelsea. Wed, Apr 8, 2015 04:47:00 PM
