Roberto Firmino shot back into form, scoring two second half goals to get Liverpool level with Swansea City, but the Jacks were in the mood for the upset and found a winning goal in a 2-3 upset.
While still hampered by the absence of Sadio Mane, the return of Philippe Coutinho to the XI made this matchup look very one-sided on paper, but the Reds found themselves up against a Swansea side looking determined to climb out of the bottom of the table. After struggling to break through their defense in the first half, the upset looked sealed with Swansea scoring two goals quickly after the second half began. Firmino would score twice himself though in the space of 14 minutes, first by heading in a James Milner cross, then by scoring brilliantly when he collected a Georginio Wijnaldum cross, controlling the ball and firing accurately. In the end, an inconsistent defense cost the Reds points in their chase to the title, with some questionable efforts from Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan in the middle. Jan 21 - 9:44 AM
