Slaven Bilic has been sacked by West Ham on Monday after Saturday's 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool.
The Croatian boss was relived off his duties in the wake of their sixth lose of the season, which has left the Hammers in 18th place and bottom of the league in goals conceded (23). Bilic was appointed in the summer of 2015 on a three-year contract and lead the club to a pair of mid-tables finishes in his first two seasons in charge. But after spending £42m on players in the summer and taking just nine points from 11 matches, West Ham have decided it was time to move on. A statement on the club website read: "The Chairmen and board of West Ham United would like to place on record their thanks and gratitude to Slaven and his team for their services over the past two-and-a-half years, but believe a change is now necessary in order for the Club to move forward positively and in line with their ambition."
