Gareth Southgate's England claimed a huge scalp on Monday evening in Seville when they inflicted defeat upon Spain on their home turf.
The final score on the night was 3-2 in a game of two halves, where England were at one point leading by three. Central to the victory was Marcus Rashford, who scored once past his club mate David de Gea in the Spanish nets and was a key component of the press England deployed. Rashford and Raheem Sterling targeted Spain full-backs Marcos Alonso and Wolves' Jonny, whilst Harry Kane played slightly deeper. In addition to his goal, Rashford also teed up Raheem Sterling for one of his brace, as all three goals the Three Lions scored took advantage of the Manchester-based players' pace. Rashford now has three goals in his last four starts for England, and will return to United training on Wednesday buoyed by a fantastic international break. Oct 16 - 11:33 AM
