Newcastle United continued their remarkable season by handing Chelsea their first defeat of the season as Papiss Cisse would score twice from the bench and the Magpies would hold onto win 2-1.
What a start to Week 15. Alan Pardew apparently has found a recipe for success. Show nothing in attack in the opening half, make a key substitution in the second half, watch that sub make an immediate impact, then get a positive result. If you look back at Newcastle's matches this season, it keeps happening and did so again today, when he brought Cisse off the bench for Remy Cabella, and the striker promptly scored four minutes later, tapping in an Ameobi cross. His second goal seemed to put the game to bed with 12 minutes to go, but a 2nd yellow collected by Steven Taylor left them a man down and Chelsea quickly cut the two-goal deficit in half. Newcastle held on for dear life though, even though they had to call upon Jak Alnwick to take over at keeper to begin the 2nd half, a lad with no first team experience. Dec 6 - 9:45 AM
