After a tough start that saw only one point earned in their first five games, Burnley are finding form with their second straight win as Johann Berg Gudmundsson scored and then assisted the match-winner in a 1-2 win over Cardiff City.
Icelandic internationals have had quite the 24 hours in the league this weekend. Following up Gylfi Sigurdsson's brace for Everton yesterday, his compatriot was the star in the league's only match of the day. Following one of the poorer first half displays by any side this season, the Clarets were fortunate to enter the break on level terms. The attack finally woke up shortly after the restart, when Ashley Westwood send a looping ball toward the back post that Gudmundsson was able to head into a tight spot for his first goal of the season. Cardiff would level less than ten minutes later but the Clarets would respond with twenty minutes to play. That's when Gudmundsson collected an overhead ball on the left and crossed it to the middle of the box to find Sam Vokes who headed home. On a down note, James Tarkowski had to limp off inside the first half hour with an apparent groin injury. Sep 30 - 1:17 PM
