Manolo Gabbiadini emerged from the bench to score a vital goal in Southampton's struggle for Premier League survival, simultaneously relegating West Brom.
In a cagey encounter in Wales, the pressure on both teams was obvious from the off. The first half was goalless and the chances which presented themselves were half-chances at best. After the interval, Southampton created more openings though Charlie Austin's efforts couldn't beat Fabianski. McCarthy did well to deny Andre Ayew at the other end.
