Jan Vertonghen had a day to forget as he gave Arsenal a penalty and was sent off with a second yellow card as Tottenham's momentum was halted in a 4-2 loss to the Gunners.
It was a roller-coaster derby but unfortunately for Vertoghen, he had a front row seat for the low points of the ride. Just ten minutes in, Arsenal were ahead as the Belgian defender was penalized for handball. The mistake looked for a while to be forgotten, as Spurs turned the match around quickly with two goals in four minutes. First on the half hour mark, Eric Dier headed home a free kick from Christian Eriksen. Then, Harry Kane would score from the spot after Heung-min Son drew a foul in the area. The second half saw Arsenal regain the momentum though, as they would equalize and then run away with two additional goals. Meanwhile, Vertonghen's day was darkened further, as a second caution saw him make an early exit. He will miss the midweek clash with Southampton on Wednesday night. Dec 2 - 11:13 AM
