Southampton have looked like a side wracked by nerves in the PL this season. They have been slow to attempt to penetrate defences, shooting too early, and missing gilt-edged chances.
The boo-boys have had plenty of ammunition while watching many of The Saints' 6 home games so far this term, but manager Mauricio Pellegrino hopes that the 1-0 win over West Brom at St. Mary's in GW9 will help his side escape their languid mentality. The WBA game was following the same script until Boufal's intervention, with Southampton controlling possession but failing to convert their chances. However, Pellegrino hopes that the win will ease his side's nerves: "Hopefully but for me to sustain and to win games you have to play well. You have to play better than the opponent. This is our job and I will repeat that the attitude of the players is right, is good." He added that he was happy with his players' game control and the changes he made. Southampton will be cautiously optimistic that they can get all 3 points when they visit Brighton in GW10. Oct 25 - 12:24 PM
