Wolverhampton played an up-tempo game from start to finish, giving Manchester City their best effort, but some fortune was needed to grab an upset 1-1 draw.
It was an electric atmosphere for Wolves home opener and the team clearly were feeding off of it. They looked to have scored a goal by Raul Jiminez in the 20th minute, but it was ruled offside. Meanwhile, Rui Patricio made a fine save to keep the game goalless at the break. The big moment of the match came when Joao Moutinho delivered a ball in that looked to be headed in by Willy Boly. Upon inspection, Boly guided the ball with his hand, but the goal would stand. City would level, but Wolves were saved by an uncalled penalty for City and three balls that hit the woodwork. A great result against the champions regardless. Aug 25 - 9:29 AM
