AFC Bournemouth continue to build on a solid record at home, becoming the first Premier League side to keep Tottenham from scoring this season as the two sides play to a goalless draw.
The Cherries showed today that any opponent visiting their ground will have a tough opponent to deal with, as they played a composed and passionate style of football. They nearly scored an early opener when Charlie Daniels had a open shot in the box from a corner kick but Hugo Lloris made a big save. They showed signs of slowing up their tempo as the first half drew to a close but found another gear in the second half and looked the more threatening side to score. Jack Wilshere had good moments and bad moments but, perhaps more importantly, was able to play the full 90 minutes for the first time this season. Andrew Surman was a late scratch as the midfielder was struck with an illness. Eddie Howe continues to build upon a strong reputation, getting six goals from his players against a poor side last week then an impressive defensive display the following week against a solid Tottenham side.
