Everton were the victim of a Tottenham attack in peak form as the Toffees were blown out of their own stadium in a 2-6 loss.
Early proceedings looked promising enough for Everton, as they traded early jabs with Spurs before breaking through in the 21st minute. Dominic Calvert-Lewin sped down the left and deep into the box before cutting the ball back to Theo Walcott who supplied the one-touch finish. Everton looked for a moment to be 2-0 up minutes later but the goal was disallowed. The game went south for the home side from then on, as the defense would concede three times in each half. Jordan Pickford looked the goat for the first two goals but by the final whistle the bad result had plenty of blame to go around. Gylfi Sigurdsson managed to sneak a goal in during the Tottenham explosion, scoring his seventh of the season via a Richarlison assist. Everton will be more than happy to put this one behind them quickly as they play Burnley on Boxing Day. Sun, Dec 23, 2018 01:14:00 PM
