Swansea City brought their usual controlled brand of football against Liverpool tonight and were easily the better side for more than half the match, but a freakish goal by Jordan Henderson spoiled their effort as they would suffer a 0-1 loss.
Swansea dictated the flow and set up some major chances in the first half, the best of which was a Gylfi Sigurdsson shot that looked to be headed for the corner of net, but Simon Mignolet stretched himself enough to stop it, along with a hard strike by Bafetimbi Gomis a bit earlier on. Without a goal to show for their efforts at the half though, the sense was that it would come back to cost them and it did. They didn't create nearly as many chances in the second and the Reds took advantage of a kind break to grab the goal and take the points. Still 10 points behind the top 7, the Swans appear to have little to play for and will settle for a solid mid-table finish, but unlike other clubs in a similar position, their brand of football shouldn't suffer much because of it, so continue to invest in plus matchups.
