Liverpool were spanked by a well-oiled Arsenal attack and were beaten thoroughly, 4-1 at the Emirates, though Jordan Henderson's goal keeps him a top fantasy producer.
Daniel Sturridge was fit enough to make the squad but not enough to start, and by the time he was introduced to begin the second half, the match was pretty far out of reach. The defense that had been as solid as any for months now were poor today. Goals were conceded where Kolo Toure was beaten, Alberto Moreno was beaten and Emre Can was beaten. Raheem Sterling got the nod to start up top and drew a penalty in the final quarter hour. Henderson was able to convert, though he just managed to squeak it past David Ospina. Regardless, Henderson continues to prove that this is a breakout season for him and can put up Gerrard-esque numbers in the Gerrard role. He will certainly be talked about heading into next season. The loss is a major blow for the Reds hopes of a top 4 finish, as the gap between them and Manchester United look set to widen. Apr 4 - 9:56 AM
