In one of the season's most dramatic affairs, Liverpool were able to hand Manchester City their first defeat, winning 4-3 in a nail-biter.
Goals continue to fly in the post-Coutinho era and it was Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain's performance that stood out the most. He would get the Reds on the board first, finishing a counter with a low drive, assisted by Roberto Firmino. City would level as the sides were 1-1 at the break but the Reds attack had a customary attacking explosion with three goals in nine minutes. The Ox would first pay Firmino back, setting up the Brazilian who finished with a sweet chip. Minutes later, Sadio Mane would fire a beauty from the edge of the box into the top corner, with Mo Salah teeing up the goal. Salah then had Anfield rocking, lobbing a ball over the keeper whose clearance attempt fell right to the Egyptian. City would score twice late to turn a rout into a narrow win but the Reds defense had done well up until then, despite the absence of Virgil van Dijk. Jan 14 - 1:03 PM
