It was far from pretty, but Burnley were able to erase 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 deficits to earn a 3-3 draw at Newcastle, with George Boyd's strike the final equalizer that earned the Clarets a coveted road point.
It was a strange 90 minutes at St. James', as Sean Dyche was forced to use all three substitutions in the first half due to injury. Jason Shackell hobbled off first, Dean Marney would be the next casualty, then Kevin Long, who made his top flight debut by coming on for the injured Shackell had to be stretchered off himself. Still, despite the injuries, a manager who was now tactically handcuffed, and trailing on three separate occasions, the Clarets found answers from Danny Ings, Boyd, and a ridiculous own goal gifted by Paul Dummett. Burnley will be happy with the point but it remains to be seen how damaged his side has come out of it, as he named an unchanged side for the sixth straight match and it appears to have cost him.
