Robbie Brady made his long-awaited comeback from injury during a 45-minute run out against Curzon Ashton.
The Republic of Ireland international ruptured his patellar tendon following an innocuous looking challenge on Harry Maguire back in December which ended his season. Brady has spent the last seven months working his way back to fitness and re-joined the main group earlier this month after stepping up his recovery. Ahead of the clubs first pre-season game in Cork, manager Sean Dyche admitted that although Brady was "going really well" they would err on the side of caution as it was still very early in his progress. However, he was named in the starting XI against the National League North outfit on Friday: "It was brilliant for Robbie. He’s been working so hard with the physios to get right," said First-team coach Tony Loughlan. "It’s fantastic, I’m really pleased for him. He looked very sharp and could have got on the scoresheet. I don’t think he wanted to come off. The plan was always 45 minutes and he is really pleased with his evening’s work." Jul 22 - 1:46 AM
