Texas head coach Charlie Strong said he won't allow Texas redshirt junior QB David Ash to take a hit before the first game of the season.
Ash suffered a fractured foot during spring practices back in April. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder also missed 10 games last season with a concussion. Because of the head injury, he was granted a medical hardship waiver and still has two years eligibility remaining for the Longhorns. Needless to say, it's an intelligent decision to keep Ash out of harm's way. Ash is the favorite to land the starting QB job, but he'll have to beat out Tyrone Swoopes. Aug 8 - 1:16 PM
