Oregon State redshirt senior QB Sean Mannion completed 24-of-31 attempts for 275 yards and an interception in a 28-7 win against San Diego State over the weekend.
You'll hear Mannion discussed as a potential intriguing developmental NFL quarterback, mostly because he looks the part at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds. But if Rotoworld's NFL Draft staff ran a pro organization, we wouldn't waste the pick. Mannion becomes hurried when he receives pressure up the middle. Because he isn't mobile, this panic manifests itself in occasionally crippling mistakes. Not everyone agrees with us, of course, as ESPN's Todd McShay graded Mannion ahead of Baylor's Bryce Petty over the summer. The Oregon State prospect almost bolted to the NFL over the winter but decided to exhaust his collegiate eligibility. He hasn't played great during the soft section of OSU's schedule and will need to pick it up when Pac-12 play starts this Saturday against USC. Sep 22 - 1:38 AM
