Former Auburn RB Michael Dyer will enroll at a school close to his hometown of Litle Rock, Arkansas and will not play football this year, according to ESPN's Joe Schad.
Dyer reportedly tweeted yesterday "College ain't for everybody" but it comes from the same account that said the running back was transferring to FCS level Prairie View A&M. He later claimed the same account was hacked. In order to have played anywhere this season, Dyer would have to be granted a double transfer waiver by the NCAA. It has been a crazy year for Dyer, who transferred to Arkansas State to follow coach Gus Malzahn, but his time there ended before it even began due to a "violation of team rules" including a speeding citation. He remains on track for the 2013 NFL Draft, but obviously sitting out a full season of football will not help his chances of being more than a third day pick.

Prairie View A&M head coach Heishma Northern insists that neither he nor his assistant coaches have contacted junior RB Michael Dyer about a possible transfer.
Dyer tweeted the transfer himself, so this is a surprising development. "I haven’t talked to any coaches from Auburn, I haven’t talked to any coaches from Arkansas State, I haven’t talked to his high school coaches, and I haven’t talked him," Northern answered when asked about the Dyer transfer. Perhaps the Twitter account was a fake, but as of now it seems Dyer is not transferring to Prairie View A&M. ESPN's Joe Schad later reported that "Prairie View A&M [said] paperwork in way right now of Michael Dyer being eligible to play."

Former Auburn and Arkansas State junior RB Michael Dyer has transferred to Prairie View A&M.
Prairie View A&M is an FCS level program, so Dyer will almost certainly be eligible to play in 2012 after preparing to redshirt this season at Arkansas State. The former top running back recruit was dismissed from Arkansas State after being cited for speeding and was allegedly also carrying marijuana and a gun in the car. We tend to think he will spend one season at the FCS level then jettison as an early entry to the 2013 NFL Draft.

Coming off his dismissal from the Arkansas State football team, Arkansas State police released information that sophomore RB Michael Dyer was cited for speeding in March and was allegedly caught with marijuana and a gun.
Dyer was not arrested in the incident but was cited for going 96 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone. According to the Jonesboro Sun, who obtained a copy of the dash cam video of the stop, State Trooper Royce Denney tells Dyer "You've got a career ahead of you, but you're being a total dumb ass right now." Apparently another car was involved and was driven by Ronnie Wright, who was cited for the same offense.
