Former Auburn RB Michael Dyer will enroll at a school close to his hometown of Litle Rock, Arkansas and will not play football this year, according to ESPN's Joe Schad.
Dyer reportedly tweeted yesterday "College ain't for everybody" but it comes from the same account that said the running back was transferring to FCS level Prairie View A&M. He later claimed the same account was hacked. In order to have played anywhere this season, Dyer would have to be granted a double transfer waiver by the NCAA. It has been a crazy year for Dyer, who transferred to Arkansas State to follow coach Gus Malzahn, but his time there ended before it even began due to a "violation of team rules" including a speeding citation. He remains on track for the 2013 NFL Draft, but obviously sitting out a full season of football will not help his chances of being more than a third day pick. Wed, Aug 15, 2012 01:41:00 PM
