CBS Sports' Dane Brugler writes that Northwestern redshirt senior WR Kyler Prater is "a nightmare in coverage" due to his size and athleticism.
Prater had a career game in Saturday's loss to Northern Illinois, producing seven catches for 87 yards and his first collegiate touchdown. The Illinois native was a Parade High School All-American and five-star recruit who committed to USC and redshirted in 2010 due to hamstring and groin injuries. He missed most of 2011 because of a broken left foot and decided to transfer closer to home. He collected only 19 catches the past two years, but appears poised to break out. "He had some drops and needs to do a better job securing passes, especially in contested situations, but his athleticism and long frame makes him a nightmare in coverage and provides a big target for the quarterback," Brugler wrote. "NFL scouts loves measureables and the light bulb appears to be slowly illuminating for Prater." Sep 9 - 8:05 PM
