NFL.com predicts Arizona redshirt senior Jesse Scroggins will win the QB job.
Scroggins signed with USC as the No. 6 QB in the 2010 class according to Scout.com, but he left after two seasons in Los Angeles. He's competing with Connor Brewer, Jerrard Randall, and Anu Solomon for the honor to start the opener. The Texas transfer Brewer "doesn't appear to be the ideal fit for the offense as he's not as mobile as the other candidates," wrote staff writer Bryan Fischer. "He will take care of the ball, but has one of the weakest arms of all the contenders." Randall is the best runner of the bunch, but Scroggins is the favorite. "[Scroggins] has a big arm and moves around well enough for somebody his size (6-foot-3, 208 pounds)," Fischer wrote. "With a plethora of wide receivers on the Wildcats' roster, it wouldn't be surprising if the staff opts for the best passer of the bunch." Sun, Jun 22, 2014 08:19:00 PM
