Tony Pierson is easing the concern over the loss of James Sims for the first three games of 2012.
The loss of Sims, who was last season’s leading rusher and was suspended due to his arrest for DUI, could be easier to handle thanks to the emergence of Pierson. No stranger to the offense, Pierson was 71-396-3 (a healthy 5.6 ypc) with 8 receptions last season as a freshman. Marquis Jackson, formerly a receiver, could also carry some of the load.
