FSU junior DL Mario Edwards "projects best as a left end in a four-man front, but with the added weight, could be looked at as a three-technique tackle for some teams," according to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.
Edwards announced Tuesday he will leave Tallahassee early for the draft. "Edwards arrived at Florida State as one of the top high school recruits in the country three years ago and although he didn't live up to the hype for the Seminoles, he developed into a quality starter with obvious potential," Brugler wrote. "Much like his weight over the years, his play fluctuated as he showed flashes of dominance, but then disappeared for stretches. Edwards lined up inside and outside for the Seminoles, as well as a joker position standing up and bouncing around the line of scrimmage to attack gaps." He's graded by CBS as a potential top-75 choice. "Although his pass rush ability is limited, Edwards proved to be a reliable run defender with his forceful hands and athletic movement skills to hold the edge and chase down plays in pursuit," Brugler wrote.
