Cincinnati OLB Walter Stewart was red flagged and withheld from on-field activities at the NFL Combine.
If you haven't previously read, Stewart was close to retiring from the sport this fall due to a spinal issue. Out of nowhere, the former Bearcat decided to attempt a comeback but his medical was failed by the Combine, despite being invited in the first place. According to Joe Reedy, "Keith Fields, Stewart's foster father, said there are indications that Stewart will be cleared to take part" in the schools Pro Day on March 14.

National Football Post's Russ Lande says Cincinnati DE/OLB Walter Stewart could go in the top 40.
"Do not be surprised if Stewart’s back passes some physicals if he ends up being a top 40 selection in the Draft," Lande wrote. Stewart has been getting publicity since getting a second opinion that has allowed him to play football. Most recently, Mike Mayock said Stewart could be a top 10 pick if his medicals check out.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock believes Cincinnati DE/OLB Walter Stewart is a top 10 selection if he checks out medically.
Stewart was born without a posterior C1 arch of the vertebra. His last game with the Bearcats was on October 30, and it had been reported he would retire from the sport. It's difficult to say how his medicals will go, as it all depends on the team doctor. We believe that it's highly unlikely Stewart is a first or second day selection, let alone a first rounder.

Cincinnati senior OLB/DE Walter Stewart will reportedly retire from football due to a spinal injury aggravated against Fordham.
Stewart’s foster father, Keith Fields, told the Bearcat Lair that Stewart was born without a "posterior C1 arch" and will no longer be able to play football due to a congenital defect in his spine. The senior was apparently injured in the game but continued to play through it. Stewart has emerged as the leader of the Cincinnati defense, but it appears his playing days are over.
