Sophomore TE Dakota Royer has decided to leave the Penn State football program, becoming the tenth player under scholarship to do so.
The Nittany Lions already lost fellow tight end Kevin Haplea to Florida State, but Royer was not expected to have as significant of a role. After redshirting in 2010, the sophomore did not see any game action last year as a linebacker but made a position switch to tight end this offseason.
