Redskins selected Baylor RB Lache Seastrunk with the No. 186 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Seastrunk (5-foot-9, 201) was a ballyhooed five-star recruit to Oregon, but transferred amid the Chip Kelly scandal and spent two years at Baylor, turning 289 carries into 2,189 yards (7.57 YPC) and 18 TDs. A zero in the passing game, Seastrunk had more drops (10) than receptions (9) in college, and was the nation's only starting tailback in 2013 who didn't catch a pass. He was noticeably awful in pass protection. Seastrunk's strength is his open-field explosiveness, confirmed by a 41 1/2-inch vertical and freakish 11-foot-2 broad jump. He ran a 4.51 forty. Seastrunk projects as a dynamic change-of-pace back, although pass-game deficiencies will make getting him the ball in open space more of a challenge. Sat, May 10, 2014 04:13:00 PM
