NFL.com's Chase Goodbread believes Florida CB Loucheiz Purifoy was amongst a group of early draft entrants who were submarined by circumstance.
Joining Purifoy in Goodbread's "hard-luck decisions" group was Mizzou RB Henry Josey, Tennessee OT Tiny Richardson, Notre Dame NT Louis Nix III, and South Carolina DT Kelcy Quarles. All but Nix, a third-rounder, went undrafted for various reasons. As for Purifoy, Goodbread commented: "Dating back to last fall, Purifoy's draft tumble was probably longer and harder than any other. Once seen as a potential first-round pick, he abruptly announced he was turning pro early immediately after Florida's final regular-season game. It's a decision he perhaps should have put more thought into because he went undrafted. Along with character concerns, Purifoy's 4.61 40-yard dash at the combine didn't help matters."
