Rob Rang of CBS Sports wonders if Washington senior WR Kasen Williams possesses the explosiveness to separate from NFL corners.
The stud prep recruit from Skyline High School was Washington's first ever Parade All-American Player of the Year (2010-11). Williams and Mackey Award-winning TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins had to be a little miffed when Steve Sarkisian's up-tempo spread offense spotlighted slot WRs Jaydon Mickens and John Ross in 2013. Williams caught only 29 passes for 421 yards and one touchdown over his first eight games before breaking his left fibula and suffering a foot injury against Cal, which ended his season and led to two surgeries. "Williams accelerates smoothly off the line of scrimmage and uses his body well to shield corners from the ball on quick slants," Rang wrote. "Too often he's forced to push off defenders on comebacks and deep-outs and he rarely was targeted by former Washington quarterback Keith Price on vertical routes. He is a highly physical receiver, whose aggression and strength made him very effective blocking on the perimeter." Jun 28 - 6:09 PM
