Auburn junior QB Jeremy Johnson is a "darkhorse Heisman candidate" and the QB most likely to break out in 2015, according to NFL Media draft analyst Chad Reuter.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Johnson, Alabama's Mr. Football in 2012, completed 27-of-38 attempts for 436 yards and a 3/0 TD/INT rate in place of Nick Marshall last year. This time around, he gets the job to himself. As he's already been named to the Davey O'Brien Award watch list and is a 20-1 shot to win the Heisman (according to Bovada), we don't anticipate any opponent taking him lightly. "The combination of his size, rocket arm and toughness as a runner should worry even the toughest of SEC defenses," Reuter wrote. "In-state rival Alabama might have highly regarded Jake Coker taking the reins this year, but Johnson could be the one stealing the show in the Iron Bowl." Jul 22 - 8:20 PM
