ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. indicated that with his work in the CFB Playoff, Alabama senior QB Jacob Coker improved his stock from a "priority free agent" to a "late-rounder" for this spring's NFL Draft.
"The way that Coker went about his business after he got the job back, the way he finished off when everybody thought he’d be a liability; he became a plus for them," Kiper said. In Alabama's two-game run to the National Championship, the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder threw for a total of 621 yards with a 4/0 TD/INT ratio in helping to topple Michigan State and Clemson. Said Kiper, "He made some great throws when he had to." Coker's regular season numbers, less impressive. Not counting his Playoff work, he threw for 2,489 yards with a 17/8 TD/INT ratio.
