Miami head coach Al Golden has the least job security of any coach in the country, according to ESPN's Travis Haney.
This is the consensus take across the industry; Golden has gone 28-22 across four seasons even while trotting out consistent, NFL-caliber talent (seven Hurricanes were drafted this year from 2014's 6-7 outfit). Haney reports that "multiple people familiar with the program" have "repeatedly said" that retaining good friend and defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio could be Golden's ultimate downfall. "He may end up regretting [not firing D’Onofrio]," a source said in the spring, "but he wanted to be loyal to him. … It’s a big year for them." Said Golden: "You can be as talented as you want to be, but if you turn the ball over as much as you take it away, it’s going to be really hard to win games." Miami had a minus-1 turnover margin.
