Giants selected Youngstown State DE Avery Moss with the No. 167 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Moss (6’3/264) was kicked out of Nebraska for "exposing himself to a fellow student" and resurfaced at Youngstown State, where Moss bookended Derek Rivers as a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in 2016. He posted 17.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles as a senior. Long armed (34 ½") with huge hands (10 3/8"), Moss’ biggest drawback is his 29th-percentile athleticism with 4.8 speed. Still, Moss showed a plus motor and get-off burst on college film, and produced both in the Big Ten and FCS. He has a chance to become a lower-end No. 2 pass rusher or useful rotational piece.
