Former Oregon redshirt freshman QB Damion Hobbs transferred to Utah State.
Hobbs, a member of the 2013 class, redshirted last season. "I am thankful for the opportunity I had at Oregon, but things simply didn’t work out football-wise," he said. "I’ve been to Utah State and had a good rapport with the coaches so everything was in place and it just felt right." With star QB Chuckie Keeton‘s eligibility set to expire after the coming season, Hobbs could conceivably helm the offense for three years beginning in 2015. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Hobbs will likely compete with Darell Garretson for QB-of-the-future honors on the practice field in 2014. "I just want to bring that winning attitude to the program," Hobbs said. "They’ve been doing that there lately and winning games but I want to keep it going and really want to win and learn as much as I can. I want to come in and be a good teammate too right off the bat."
