According to multiple reports, Alabama redshirt sophomore edge rusher Mekhi Brown will transfer to Tennessee State.
A little-used reserve prior to last Monday, Brown became infamous for a forgettable third quarter stretch against Georgia in the College Football Playoff Championship Game. First, he punched Georgia's Wyatt Payne. After he returned to the sideline, Brown started jawing with an Alabama assistant coach, who he then shoved in the chest before getting restrained by a teammate. Brown re-entered the game and subsequently made a clothesline tackle. "I really felt like a jerk," Brown said after the game. "That’s not how I am. I wanted to win, that’s what it was. I did something stupid. I could have cost us the game." Per reports, Brown was actually on his way out of Tuscaloosa before last Monday. Brown had applied and been accepted to Tennessee State before the game took place. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound edge rusher was a four-star prospect coming out of high school. He's reportedly already taking classes at TSU. Jan 15 - 8:03 PM
