Browns selected Utah OLB Nate Orchard with the No. 51 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
Orchard (6'3/250) made 36 starts for the Utes, compiling 25 sacks, 38.5 TFLs, and eight forced fumbles. He won the 2014 Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's top defensive end, getting two of his senior-year sacks against decorated Stanford LT Andrus Peat. Orchard showed average athleticism in Indy, however, running 4.80 with a 31 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-7 broad jump. A high number of Orchard's college sacks came on inside moves -- not necessarily translatable to the NFL -- and Orchard's play strength is lacking. A finesse rusher, Orchard has been compared to ex-Bills bust Aaron Maybin by SI's Doug Farrar. Orchard is basically the opposite of Barkevious Mingo, in that he wins with hand use and technique, not athleticism. May 1 - 8:52 PM
