Oklahoma sophomore DT Jordan Phillips is a "massive two-gap defensive tackle that has caught our eye," writes ESPN Insider's Steve Muench and Kevin Weidl.
Phillips suffered a season-ending back injury last year but has showed no ill-effects in 2014, outside of perhaps being allocated more rest by the coaching staff. The 6-foot-6, 324-pounder has the ability to collapse pockets and get into the backfield consistently. "He is not just a space-eater, either, as Phillips has above-average quickness and agility for his size, providing him adequate range against the run and the ability to generate pressure on the interior," ESPN's pair of analysts wrote. "Phillips caught our eye initially last fall before having season-ending back surgery after the fourth game. It appears he has fully recovered and is a playing at a high level right now. Phillips' size, power and athleticism combination is exactly what the NFL covets at that position." Sep 30 - 10:39 PM
