CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes that Boise State redshirt junior RB Jay Ajayi needs to "improve his ball security" to be seen "as viable early round pick."
"He plays fast, but sometimes too fast and will run into his own blockers and needs to improve his ability in pass protection. But above all, Ajayi needs to eliminate the fumbles and improve his ball security to be viewed as a viable early round pick. Based on tape study, it wouldn't surprise me if he earns second and third round grades from NFL scouts," Brugler writes. The Broncos prospect was the leading rusher in the Mountain West Conference with 1,425 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns in his sophomore season. The 6-foot, 220-pound Ajayi averaged 5.7 yards per carry, showing good acceleration and explosiveness that evaluators look for at the next level. Ajayi is looking to follow the footsteps of former Broncos RB Doug Martin, with the idea of hearing his name called in the first round of the draft. Jul 14 - 1:40 PM
